Saalfelden Leogang World Cup GmbH founded

The Preparations for the Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships from 29th August to 9th September 2012 are already in full swing. Although the infrastructure of the region is already almost complete, until next year there is much of work to do. In order that the two places Saalfelden and Leogang together can act as a venue the World Cup Leogang Saalfelden GmbH was founded and entered in the register in early February. The associates of WM GmbH, tourist boards Saalfelden and Leogang, the two communities Saalfelden and Leogang and the Legang skilift company have realized the great potential of the mountain bike sport and try now to use it gainfully for the future.

Since the acceptance in September 2010, the individual partners are working on the major project world championship. The individual disciplines, Four Cross, Downhill, Cross Country and Trials take place in Saalfelden and Leogang. "The key to success now is to work very closely together and to pull together," said Stefan Puehringer, CEO of Saalfelden Leogang WM GmbH, "so we can host an event that people will remember." In these 12 days, the holiday destination turns to mountain bikers Olympus. Cameras from around the world will be directed to Saalfelden and Leogang. The epicenter of the two high-speed disciplines and Four Cross will be, like in the previous year, the bike park in Leogang. In Saalfelden is already this year held a cross country competition, the category Trials are then aligned first 2012.

Tourism is the region's largest economic factor; whereas the objective of this major event is to be sustainable tourism in this profession and to establish a fixed point in the UCI calendar. In 2010 when Saalfelden Leogang held the UCI MTB World Cup the foundation was laid and the professionalism in the organization was exposed.
