Der Bikepark Leogang startet mit neuen Highlights und einem
abwechslungsreichen Opening Weekend in die Saison 2010

Der Bikepark Leogang feiert den 2010er Saisonstart vom 13. Mai bis zum 16. Mai umfangreicher als je zuvor. Während des verlängerten Wochenendes sind nicht nur alle Lifttickets um 30 Prozent reduziert, auch die “Kona Mystery Tour” macht in Leogang halt und lädt dazu ein, die neusten Bikes kostenlos zu testen.

Die eigentlichen Highlights schafft der Bikepark Leogang jedoch auf Angebotsebene:
Die komplett neue offizielle UCI Mountainbike 4X World Cup Strecke verspricht pünktlich zum Eröffnungswochenende fertig gestellt zu werden, der untere „Hangman“- und „FlyingGangster“-Trail sind frisch überarbeitet, wie auch ein brandneues Foampit nur darauf wartet, mit Tricks bombardiert zu werden.
Die neue 4X Strecke verspricht puren Gravity-Spass auf Weltklasseniveau.
Der Kursdesigner Guido Tschugg, seines Zeichens erfahrener und erfolgreicher World Cup Racer, hat eine einzigartige Kombination aus steilen Anliegern, Doubles, Tripples, Felsensektionen und einer Step-Up/Step-Down artigen Holzbrücke in dem 4X Kurs verwirklicht. Die Strecke ist nahezu finalisiert – nur letzte Bodenkomprimierungs- und Belagsarbeiten stehen noch aus und werden hoffentlich nicht durch das derzeit schlechte Wetter verzögert.

Für alle Freunde des tricklastigen Fahrens steht 2010 erstmals ein Foampit im Bikepark Leogang bereit. Direkt neben der Talstation gelegen, wird dessen Eröffnung am Freitagabend ab 19:00 Uhr mit einem separaten “FoamPit Opening” zelebriert – inklusive Show, Spanferkelgrillen und Live DJ-Set beim anliegenden B3 Cafe.
Am darauf folgenden Samstag und Sonntag macht die “Kona Mystery Tour” in Leogang halt: Die neuesten 2010er Coilair und Cadabra Bikes mit ihrem einzigartigen Magic Link Hinterbausystem können kostenlos nach Belieben auf Herz und Nieren getestet werden.
Dem nicht genug: während des verlängerten “Magic Opening Weekend - Abra Cadabra“ sind alle Lifttickets um 30 Prozent reduziert – nur Saisonkarten sind ausgenommen. Am ersten Wochenende der Saison sind alle Strecken des Bikepark Leogang ab der Mittelstation befahrbar.
Das “Magic Opening Weekend - Abra Cadabra“ und die Neuerungen im Bikepark Leogang bilden dabei nur das erste von vielen Highlights in der diesjährigen Bikesaison.

Der Bikepark Leogang im Herzen desSalzburgerLandes trumpft 2010 wie noch nie zuvor mit prominent besetzten Mountainbike-Camps und hochkarätigen internationalen Events auf:

UCI Mountainbike 4X & DH World Cup vom 18. bis 20. Juni 2010:
Erstmalig wird der österreichische UCI World Cup Tourstop im SalzburgerLand ausgetragen und vereint damit die weltbesten 4X und Downhill-Racer im Bikepark Leogang. Mehr Infos unter: www.mtbworldcup.at.

Out of Bounds Festival vom 24. bis 27. Juni 2010:
Das legendäre Out of Bounds Festival – ein wahres Freeride-Highlight inklusive dem 26TRIX Contest (einem der bedeutendsten Mountainbike Dirt Jump Wettbewerbe weltweit) und Tourstops des iXS European Downhill Cup und der European Fourcross Series, abgerundet durch eine Expo-Area, Abendprogramm und vielem mehr.

The Gap Camp, am 17. & 18. Juli sowie 11. & 12. September 2010:
Zweitägigestägiges Freeride-Fahrtechnikcamp für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene
im Bikepark Leogang unter der Leitung vom Sportwissenschaftler und mehrfachen österreichischen Downhillmeister Michi Gölles.

Jugendcamp des FREERIDE Magazins vom 1. bis 7. August 2010:
Die großen Namen des Freeride-Sports garantieren individuelles Training und eine professionelle Betreuung. Mit dabei sind unter anderem: Timo Pritzel, Rob J, Andi Wittmann, André Wagenknecht und Tibor Simai.

Closing Weekend 1. bis 3. Oktober 2010:
Das Closing Weekend bildet Jahr für Jahr einen runden Saisonabschluss mit dem mittlerweile schon traditionsträchtigen Bikeabtrieb und reduzierten Preisen für die Liftkarten wie auch die 2010er Produkte im Bikeparkshop.

Bongo Bongo Freeride-Trail

Ride the Bongo Bongo and share your point of view

– Bikepark Leogang’s brand new freeride trail, the Bongo Bongo, is now open to the public. If you want to capture our bike park action on tape, you can also rent a helmet cam at the Bike Shop from now on. Enjoy!

Finally it’s done: Everybody can shred Bikepark Leogang’s Bongo Bongo trail. The trail splits up from the well-known “Flying Gangster” freeride trail. Right before the big, Kona bridge, which is located half way down the existing freeride trail, you have to make a sharp turn to the left to enter the Bongo Bongo. The masters of course construction, the „HU Cooperation“, did a great job. The Bongo Bongo looks a bit like a “small BC” trail, featuring a whole bunch of northshore elements, bridges and dirt berms. All located in Leogang’s forest. It’s your personal guarantee to enjoy a lot of flow including small jumps and gaps. The Bongo Bongo is not that technically challenging, but you should be a “little more experienced” rider. Absolute beginners might have some problems with the new trail – especially at wet conditions. The short clip shows about 80 percent of the Bongo Bongo and was filmed, when it was still under construction. What you don’t see in the video: a northshore corkscrew obstacle including a small river gap that marks the end of the trail. This footage was taken during the Opening Weekend and includes small segments of the Bongo Bongo, the Flying Gangster and the Speedster (DH-track).

If you can’t wait to ride all these trails and at the same time want to share your good times in the bike park, feel free to rent a ContourHD or POV.1.5 helmet cam at the shop located next to the valley gondola station. A special CamTerminal is waiting for you to burn your runs on a DVD after you filmed each run with the helmet cam. The fees are 25 Euros for two hours and 50 Euros for the whole day. Not that much for having a unique souvenir to share with the whole world online later.
